I am Judge Doris Walkins, and I am humbled and grateful to continue on as your Pierce County Superior Court Judge in Department 17.

I’ve been rated “Exceptionally Well Qualified” by the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, the Pierce County Minority Bar Association, QLaw, and the Latino/a Bar Association of Washington. 

I was appointed by Governor Bob Ferguson in February 2026, and I am asking that you allow me to retain my seat so that I may continue to serve our community. 

I’ve dedicated my professional life to doing my part to ensure that access to justice is not just a buzz word, but an action on behalf of some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

As a Pierce County Superior Court Commissioner for close to 4 years, I was able to do my best to ensure that litigants appearing before me had meaningful access to justice through our court, and were treated fairly, respectfully, and within the bounds of the law. I look forward to carrying on these efforts, in continued collaboration with my bench mates, as your Pierce County Superior Court Judge, Department 17.
